New book launched on Our Lady of Fatima 2017: The Call to Fatima-the Missed Message

A new book has been launched during the 100th Fatima Anniversary and coincided with the canonization of Saint Francisco and Saint Jacinta Marto by Pope Francis in Rome. The authors Thomas and Solvita McCormack had three unique influences to help them write their new book titled:-

The Call to Fatima – The Missed Message:

They had access to the writings of the servant of God Sr. Lucia before and after  she died.

They had access to those who knew the servant of God Sr. Lucia personally             and who wanted to share their knowledge to what Sr. Lucia wanted the world to know about Fatima.

People from around the world approached the film directors to give their               support to make Sr. Lucia’s writings into a double award winning film titled The Call to Fatima: The Story and the Message and translated into twelve languages.

Their privileged position and unique insight shaped and influenced them to write down their accumulated knowledge in the hope that The Call to Fatima- The Missed Message will save souls from eternal death.

It was Cardinal Ratzinger (now retired Pope Benedict XVI) who signed off Sr. Lucia’s book “Calls from the Message of Fatima” for the Doctrine of the Faith at the Vatican. He turned to the late Fr. Luis Kondor, the Vice Postulator for Blessed Francisco and Jacinta Marto and stated, “Calls from the Message of Fatima is the most important book for Catholics for twenty-first century.” When Fr. Luis Kondor gave Thomas McCormack permission to start “The Call to Fatima” films, it dawned on them and many others that the majority of Catholics missed the central message of Fatima.

The chapter to Pope Francis is pleading with some urgency to revive the Five First Saturday Devotion and restore the daily family rosary around the world, in order that the Fatima promise of the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary can be accelerated as requested by Pope Benedict XVI in Fatima on the 13 May 2010.

Without knowing it at the time, this work first started for Thomas McCormack on the 13 May 1999, and the authors have no doubt that the hand of God through Mary made it possible. It is yet another example of how much God loves us and how much he wants to save our souls.

This book “The Call to Fatima -The Missed Message” includes the two DVDs “The Call to Fatima” and and other Fatima material and is available now:

Quote from Sister Lucia

“Putting up with any sacrifices that are asked of us in our day-to-day lives becomes a slow martyrdom which purifies us and raises us up to the level of the supernatural, through the encounter of our soul with God, in the atmosphere of the presence of the Most Holy Trinity within us. We have here an incomparable spiritual richness!”                                                                                                                (Sister Lucia of Jesus and of the Immaculate Heart)

Our Lady then asked the three children the following question: “Are you willing to offer yourselves to God and bear all the sufferings He wills to send you, as an act of reparation for the sins by which He is offended, and of supplication for the conversion of sinners?” To which I replied in the name of all three:”Yes, we are willing!”   At the time, this reply was given spontaneously and in ignorance, because I had not the remotest idea what it really meant nor what its full implications were. But I never regretted it; on the contrary I renew it every day, asking God for the grace and strength that I need to keep it faithfully until the end.

Our Lady of Fatima and the Eucharist

Our Lady of Fatima and the Eucharist

By Thomas and Solvita- Elizabeth  McCormack

          The Call to Fatima

Our Lady of Fatima and the Eucharist www.thecalltofatima.com

There is no doubt, Fatima certainly gives us light for these times on the Eucharist. The last time Ireland held the International Eucharistic Congress was in 1932 and less was known about Fatima and the Eucharist at that time. It was only in the 1940’s when the Servant of God Sister Lucia’s memoirs were first published, that more was known about the apparitions of the Angel to the three little children in the Spring, Summer and Autumn of 1916 and the Most Holy Trinity visitation to her in 1929.

The Angel’s first words to them were: “Do not be afraid! I am the Angel of Peace. Pray with me.” He then taught them the following prayer: “My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You!  I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love you.”

This prayer he made them repeat three times. He encouraged them to pray in that way saying that the Hearts of Jesus and Mary were attentive to their supplications.three shepherds of Fatima www.thecalltofatima.com

While the children were playing at the well in Lucia’s parents garden the Angel came a second time. “What are you doing?” he asked. “Pray, pray very much! The most holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary have designs of mercy on you. Offer prayers and sacrifices constantly to the Most High.” Lucia then asked how they were to make sacrifices.Angel of Peace in Fatima with Eucharist www.thecalltofatima.com

“Make of everything you can a sacrifice, and offer it to God as an act of reparation for the sins by which he is offended, and in supplication for the conversion of sinners. You will thus draw down peace upon your country. I am its Angel Guardian, the Angel of Portugal. Above all, accept and bear with submission, the suffering which the Lord will send you.”

On the third visit of the Angel he was holding a chalice in his left hand, with the Host suspended above it, from which some drops of blood fell into the chalice. Leaving the chalice suspended in the air, the Angel knelt down beside the children and made them repeat three times the following prayer:

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly, and I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference with which He Himself is offended. And, through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of you the conversion of poor sinners.”

Then, rising, he took the chalice and the Host in his hands. He gave the Sacred Host to Lucia, and shared the Blood from the chalice between Jacinta and Francisco, saying as he did so:

“Take and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus, horribly outraged by ungrateful men! Make reparation for their crimes and console your God.”

That prayer to the Most Holy Trinity is certainly very beautiful and powerful. We could say now that it would seem to have been taught for our times, when the tabernacle in our churches is surrounded today by emptiness and indifference, and where many live as if Jesus were not there. How many today when they enter the church for liturgical functions are not aware of His Divine and real presence in our midst? Often Jesus in the Eucharist is placed in some isolated corner whereas he should be placed in the centre of the church, and He should be placed at the centre of our ecclesial gatherings, because the church is his temple which has been built first for Him and then for us.

In these times too how many communions are made, and how many sacrileges perpetrated! How great this wound which has surely contaminated the whole Church and paralyses it, halts it, and makes it impure and so very sick!

There must now be a clarion call for the full return of the whole Church Militant to Jesus present in the Eucharist. Because there alone is to be found the spring of living water which will purify its aridity and renew the desert to which it has been reduced; there alone is to be found the secret of life which will open up for it a second Pentecost of grace and light; there alone is to be found the fount of its renewed holiness: Jesus in the Eucharist!

Lucia records for us in her memoirs “Fatima in Lucia’s own words” the vision that occurred on the 13th June 1929.

“I had sought and obtained permission from my superiors and confessor to make a Holy Hour from eleven o’clock until midnight, every Thursday to Friday. Being alone one night, I knelt near the altar rails in the middle of the chapel and, prostrate, I prayed the prayers of the Angel. Feeling tired, I then stood up and continued to say the prayers with my arms in the form of a cross. The only light was that of the sanctuary lamp. Suddenly the whole chapel was illumined by a supernatural light, and above the altar appeared a cross of light, reaching to the ceiling. In a brighter light on the upper part of the cross, could be seen the face of a man and his body as far as the waist, upon his breast was a dove also of light and nailed to the cross was the body of another man. A little below the waist, I could see a chalice and a large host suspended in the air, on to which drops of blood were falling from the face of Jesus Crucified and from the wound in His side. These drops ran down on to the host and fell into the chalice. Beneath the right arm of the cross was Our Lady and in her hand was her Immaculate Heart. (It was Our Lady of Fatima, with her Immaculate Heart in her left hand, without sword or roses, but with a crown of thorns and flames). Under the left arm of the cross, large letters, as if of crystal clear water which ran down upon the altar, formed these words: ‘Graces, Mercy.’

Vision of the Most Holy Trinity www.thecalltofatima.com

This is surely a great mystery, which Sr Lucia ponders for many years in her cell in Coimbra, Portugal. In her last book “Calls from the message of Fatima,” she refers to the Most Holy Trinity as the ninth call of the Fatima message. “We are dealing with a mystery that only in Heaven will we be able to comprehend perfectly”.  Sr. Lucia uses the example of an orange to help us understand this mystery. “If we pick an orange for example, we remove the skin, we take out the seeds, which can be grown and we are left with the sections that we eat. Thus in a single orange we have three separate things which have three separate purposes. Then why should we be astonished to find three distinct Persons –Father, Son and Holy Spirit –in one God? If we choose to listen, all created things speak to us of God the Creator.”

Mary’s Immaculate Heart is for her Son, a living, beating, motherly tabernacle of love, of adoration, of thanksgiving and of unceasing reparation.

Wherever the Son is, there too the Father and the Holy Spirit are always present. Just as, in the glory of heaven, Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father, in intimate union with the Holy Spirit, so also when, at the bidding of the priest, He becomes present in the Eucharist and is placed in the safekeeping of the tabernacle, surrounded by Mary’s motherly Heart; close to the Son there is always the real presence of the Father and the real presence of the Holy Spirit; there is always present the Divine and Most Holy Trinity.

In Ireland The Most Holy Trinity is the supreme authority in the Irish Constitution. The Irish people honour The Trinity by obeying his laws; we revile The Trinity when we turn our back on Him. How? The Servant of God Sr Lucy explains how in her last book before she died “Calls from the message of Fatima”.

“It may possibly occur to someone to ask me: What have the Ten Commandments got to do with the Message of Fatima? I answer that they have a great deal to do with it: they are among the chief aims of the Message”. Our Lady ended the series of her apparition’s in Fatima with these words: “Do not offend the Lord our God anymore, because He is already so much offended”. There can be no doubt that what offends God the most is the breaking of his law”.

The recent writings left behind by Sr Lucia is in effect a long letter to all those who have written to her concerning their doubts, questions, and difficulties , and their desires for greater fidelity in living up to what was asked for from Heaven in the Cova da Iria (Cove of Peace) in Fatima 1917. Sister Lucia of Fatima with her writings www.thecalltofatima.com

Sr Lucia reminds us again in the book ‘Calls’: “Please do not look upon this communication as something that comes from myself. Look upon it as the echo of the voice of God, and let us all willingly endeavour to follow faithfully the path that He has mapped out for us. Yes, because it was out of love that God sent us this pressing call from his mercy, in order to help us along the way of our salvation”.

In the preface of Sr Lucia’s book “Calls from the message of Fatima” she quotes Blessed John Paul II who said “If the Church accepted the message of Fatima, it is above all because it contains a truth and a summons which are in essence the truth and the summons of the Gospel itself”
