Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

“The new generation that God foretold would be born of this woman, will triumph in the battle against the progeny of Satan, to the point of crushing its head. Mary is the Mother of this new generation, as if she were a new tree of life, planted by God in the garden of the world so that all her children can partake of her fruit.

When we see how dependent the child is on its mother in early months of its formation in the womb, we could almost say that the heart of the mother is the heart of the child. And we can say the same of Mary, when She carried the Son of the Eternal Father in her womb.

Thus we see that devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary must be established in the world by means of a true consecration, through conversion and self-giving. In the same way, through the consecration, the bread and wine are converted into the Body and Blood of Christ, which were drawn with his very life from the Heart of Mary.

Hence it is that this Immaculate Heart must be for us a refuge and the way that leads us to God.
Mary, made one with Christ, is the co-Redemptrix of the human race.”

“Pray the Rosary every day!” asked Our Lady in Fatima

Sister Lucia was asked by Our Lady of Fatima to pray the Rosary every day![During the very first apparition, on 13th May, 1917, Our Lady asked: “Pray the Rosary every day!” , and this request was to be repeated by her every month until October.

So, calling to mind the insistence with which God, by means of the Fatima Message, recommends the prayer of the Rosary, and also all that the Church’s Magisterium has said about it over the years, we can conclude that the Rosary is a form of vocal prayer which, in general, suits all of us, for which we should have the highest regard, and which we should make the greatest effort never to abandon…

I assure you that the Rosary is a biblical prayer and that it is part of the sacred Liturgy

The saying of the Rosary is the form of prayer which has been most recommended by all the Popes who served the Church in recent centuries.

His Holiness John Paul II expressed his intimate feelings, and his way of living the prayer of the Rosary in these words of 29th October, 1978: “A prayer marvellous in its simplicity and in its depth! In this prayer, we repeat over and over again the words which the Virgin Mary heard from the Archangel and from her cousin Elizabeth. The whole Church joins in these words. (…) At the same time our heart can include in these decades of the Rosary all the events which go to make up the life of the individual, the family, the nation, the Church, and the whole of humanity. Thus the simple prayer of the Rosary marks the rhythm of human life.(…) A prayer which is so simple and so rich! I cordially exhort all to pray it”. ]

This fragment is taken from the book “Calls from the Message of Fatima” written by Sister Lucia, page 270

Prayer.Sacrifice.Union.

“Pray and make sacrifices so that our whole life may be a holocaust offered to God on the arms of our day-to-day cross, in union with the Cross of Christ, for the salvation of souls, co-operating with Him in his redemptive work as members of his Mystical Body, the Church, which works, prays and suffers in intimate union with its Head for the redemption of humanity.”

The Power of Prayer by Sister Lucia

Prayer is necessary for all, and we must all pray, whether our prayer is vocal, mental or contemplative.
Vocal prayer– that is addressed to God in words.
Mental prayer– talk to God about the subject on which you are meditating, for example, an increase in faith, humility, charity or a spirit of sacrifice, in order to overcome our repugnances and difficulties, defects and temptations.
Contemplative prayer– even closer intimacy with God, in which those practising in it enter more deeply into presence of God within them, abandoning themselves more intimately to the work of the grace, light and love of God within them. Wrapped in a supernatural atmosphere, the soul allows itself to be imbued, raised up and transformed by the action of God within it, purifying and absorbing it.

There is another kind of prayer: it is the “Prayer of our work”, of the performance of all the duties in our state in life in a spirit of humble submission to God, because it was He who imposed on us the law of work.
There is nothing on earth which can be compared to the happiness experienced by a soul in intimate union with God!
“Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and it will be opened to you (Mt7, 7-8)
