Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

“The new generation that God foretold would be born of this woman, will triumph in the battle against the progeny of Satan, to the point of crushing its head. Mary is the Mother of this new generation, as if she were a new tree of life, planted by God in the garden of the world so that all her children can partake of her fruit.

When we see how dependent the child is on its mother in early months of its formation in the womb, we could almost say that the heart of the mother is the heart of the child. And we can say the same of Mary, when She carried the Son of the Eternal Father in her womb.

Thus we see that devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary must be established in the world by means of a true consecration, through conversion and self-giving. In the same way, through the consecration, the bread and wine are converted into the Body and Blood of Christ, which were drawn with his very life from the Heart of Mary.

Hence it is that this Immaculate Heart must be for us a refuge and the way that leads us to God.
Mary, made one with Christ, is the co-Redemptrix of the human race.”

Discover the Truth

“The  culture  in which we live is very secularized  and pretends to carry on as if God did not exist; it also teaches us that the truth is whatever I fashion it to be and what’s good is whatever pleases me.  Of course, this is false. As Pope Benedict XVI said in his address to the Roman Curia this past year, such ideas come from a false notion of freedom, which leaves people enslaved to various material realities and, as a result, profoundly unhappy.

What we need to discover is the Truth which is revealed in such a striking way in the life of Christ, whose total obedience to the will of the Father, total obedience to the way that God the Father shows us,both in Ten Commandments and in the Beatitudes, is the way of pure and selfless love, is the only way to our happiness.

If  you look in the Gospels for that virtue which most characterizes the love of Christ for the Father and for all mankind for whom He poured out His life, it is obedience- “I have come not to do my will but the will of Him who sent me.”-Christ was obedient even to death on the Cross.

EVANGELISATION

WHAT IS EVANGELISATION?

the Call to Fatima evangelisationEvangelisation means bringing  the Good News of Jesus into every human situation. Evangelisation leads to conversion. Evangelization is not an optional add-on. It is at the very heart of what it means to be Catholic followers of the Lord.

He commanded them: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Mk 15:15-16

Pope John Paul II suggested:” The New Evangelisation should be carried out new in zeal, new in method and new in expression.”

We all  can and should  evangelise. It helps us to grow as a Christians, as well as grow our communities. Evangelisation helps to bring back the lost souls back to God, bringing HOPE, FAITH and LOVE into their lives.

Jesus was the first and greatest evangeliser. He came to proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom of God.  If we want to follow in the footsteps of Christ, then we must become evangelisers too.

HOW DO WE EVANGELISE?

We can evangelise by listening. When we listen, we enter into a person’s heart, mind and soul. We see their search for meaning, we catch a glimpse of their struggle or their pain.

We can share our faith. We can tell others how the Holy Spirit has worked in our lives. We can also share our faith through actions that demonstrate the ways in which we try to live authentically the Gospel Message.

We can evangelise by extending an invitation. It might be an invitation to come to Mass, to come back to Sacraments of the Church or to some other Catholic devotion, to talk with a priest or spiritual advisor, to read a book, to listen to a lecture, to asist in some ministry, to pray together or to attend a parish social event.

Evangise praying. Pope John Paul II tells us “There must be unceasing prayer to nourish the desire to carry Christ to all men and women.” Pope John Paul II also adds, “For the disciple of Christ the duty to evangelise is an obligation of love.”

Let’s become the true disciples of Christ! Evangelisation today is needed more than ever!
