Prepare well for the Confession. Frequent Confession is like a shower for your soul, cleansing you completely, giving you healing and freedom from sin. Frequent Confession is like a petrol for your soul, it keeps you going through the rough roads of our lives. Sacrament of the Reconciliation is a superb grace. It is a big “SORRY” said to our Father in Heaven every time we do wrong, every time we fail or disappoint God, every time we fail to keep His Commandments.

A guide  for good confession:

  • If you need help especially if you have been away for some time simply ask the priest and he will help you by “walking” you through the steps to make a good confession.
  • Be truly sorry for your sins, ask God for the Holy Spirit to help you to examine your conscience, best way is to go through 10 Commandments and see if you kept them or not.
  • Remember that it is really Jesus who gives you forgiveness through priest
  • Always tell the priest your state of life: married or single, priest or religious, under religious vows or promises

Recite this prayer to Saint Joseph:

st josephs picOh, St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God. I place in you all my interests and desires. Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers. Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary of contemplating you, and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for me.                   Amen.

Ash Wednesday, 9th March 2011

Ash Wednesday is a day of repentance and it marks the beginning of Lent, 40 days of prayer, fasting, works of charity and silence, because in silence we can meet God more often.

Take your time to read the Bible more to understand a Word of God, encourage others to pray, for example, start a family Rosary, if it is not yet in your family, watch not the Television, but religious films and documentaries, give a hand to those who are looking for help and support, try to escape noise and hassle to be in quite with Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament, perhaps you have a possibility to attend daily Mass or go to the retreat, all we want to say is, treat yourself spiritually. Your soul is worth it to have a spiritual renewal during this special Lent time!

Have a blessed and spiritually fulfilled 40 days!
